Why the BSPS ?

The pharmaceutical industry and mainly Custom Manufacturing Organization’s need a tool to be able to produce API’s and intermediates. These may require hydrogenation and/or other gas/liquid reactions, including catalyst-filtration, distillation, condensation and cover a wide range of conditions of the daily business in Pharma such as:

  • batch operation
  • temperature -20°C to 150°C
  • pressure up to 10 barg
  • pH range 1 to 14
  • slurry (solid/liquid/gas)
  • multipurpose (e.g. various gas/liquid reactions)
  • etc.

Additionally, the unit has to be available quickly and provide a cost-effective investment.


Right TIME for the BSPS

With these objectives in mind, BIAZZI answered the call to develop a high end, multipurpose standardized offering, while also providing various options for customization. The Biazzi BSPS is an optimal production tool, easy to implement, effective, and available for a minimal capital investment.

BIAZZI is offering the following multipurpose batch wise operated gas-liquid plant, supplied as skid mounted unit. The plant enables to perform hydrogenation, oxidation, carbonylation and amination reactions. Beside Gas-Liquid-reactions and/or Liquid-Liquid-reactions can be run.

These process equipment and main process can be schematized as follows:

  • SKID-Mounted Unit with all valving, piping, insulation and instrumentation
  • All equipment needed for gas/liquid or liquid/liquid reactions:
    • Reactor with turbine agitator
    • Containment device for raw material / catalyst feeding
    • Heating / cooling system
    • Condenser for solvent reflux or distillation
    • Filtration system
    • Control system (hardware + program) with local control panel (HMI)
  • Engineering documentation (P&ID's, specifications, FS, etc.)
  • Validation (FAT + IQ/OQ)
